Arrive at Kinigi park headquarters to catch up with the day’s highlight and the behavior involved preferably by the park warden or the rangers at 08:00am. At this stage, you are allocated specific gorilla families to track before commencing your day long gorilla trekking activity.
The gorilla trekking experience is beyond gorillas as it involves hiking through the dense lush of Volcanoes National Park amidst amazing flora and fauna. Do not get surprised when you come across other wildlife like monkeys, buffaloes and if lucky elephants. The duration for gorilla trekking activity in Rwanda is mostly 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements. The one hour encounter with these endangered apes is enough to generate as much experience as possible as well as photo taking.
Return back to the starting point and then transfer back to Kigali in the evening amidst the great scenic views of the land of a thousand hills for a night flight or an overnight in Kigali city.
