Day 1: Transfer to Lake Manyara NP for Afternoon Game Drive.

On day one of your 5 Days Tanzania Safari tour, your tour driver guide shall pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8.30 am. He will give a short tour briefing before taking you on a drive of about 2 hours north to scenic Lake Manyara NP. Along the way, you’ll pass through villages and towns with busy markets.

Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy lunch and have some time to rest. In the afternoon, go on a game drive in Manyara. Set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara NP is one of Tanzania’s smallest but, most visually striking parks.

As you drive, you will see a huge, jungle-clad wall of the escarpment rising on one side, while on the other is the vast, flat soda lake. Much of the water is dappled pink and white, as large flocks of Flamingos and Pelicans gather here to feed. The park is one of the best places for birdwatching, with more than 400 recorded species, from bee-eaters to silvery-cheeked hornbills.

Marshland surrounds the lake, providing habitat for hippo, elephants, and buffalo, while zebra, wildebeest, and giraffes wander across the grasslands. Blue monkeys play in the branches of acacia, mahogany, and sausage trees, where you can also listen for the howls of baboon troops and look for rare tree-climbing lions. After your game drive, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Travel to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Olduvai Gorge.

Your second day of the 5 Days Tanzania Safari Tour starts with an early breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, set off on a long beautiful African drive of about 5 to 6 hours towards the legendary Serengeti National Park.

Pass through several traditional Maasai homesteads and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, before making a stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the most significant sites for hominid fossil discoveries in the world. It was in this steep-sided gorge that the earliest known human ancestors lived just under two million years ago, and some of their petrified remains were found here during the mid-20th century. Enjoy a picnic lunch and explore the Gorge’s museum where real fossils and casts of early human skulls are on display

After the gorge, continue into Serengeti. In the Maasai language, the name Serengeti means “endless plains,” and this protected area’s 14,763km² deliver on that promise. The park is a World Heritage Site and home to the largest concentration of plains game in the world, including the Big 5. With any luck, you’ll arrive in the Serengeti in time to witness the Great Migration, which typically occurs from June to November. This “Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth” sees more than 2 million Wildebeest, Zebras, and Gazelles, undertaking the long trek to new grazing grounds.

Day 3: Unlimited Game Drives In Serengeti National Park.

You begin early, as mornings are the best time to see the animals at their most active. You’re likely to see grazing giraffes and perhaps lions, Cheetahs, and Hyenas as they hunt wildebeest, Zebras, and Gazelles.

Day 4: Half-Day Game Drive In Serengeti & Transfer To Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Its 600 m (2,000 ft) walls form a gigantic natural bowl, protecting over 30000 wild animals inside (including the Big Five). The entire 260km² wide dent in the Earth stretches before you, filled with vivid-green grass and woodland. You’ll arrive at your lodge near the crater rim for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Early Morning Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater. Drive Back to Arusha.

After an early breakfast at the lodge, descend 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater a 6-hour game drive. Added to the Big Five (Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Lion, and Leopard), there are healthy populations of zebra, wildebeests, Hyenas, and gazelle. Elephants roam the Lerai Forest in the southwest of the crater, while lakes and rivers support hippos and wading birds, including flamingos, storks, and pelicans.

The most eagerly sought animal is the black rhino. The crater is the best place in Tanzania to see this critically endangered species, though sightings are never guaranteed. After tracking down the crater animals, enjoy pleasant picnic lunch on the crater floor. Then, drive up the steep road out of the crater and embark on a 4-5 hour drive back to Arusha and Kilimanjaro International Airport for drop-off at the end of this fantastic 5 days safari in Tanzania tour.
