Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport & Transfer to Your Hotel Arusha.
Welcome to beautiful Tanzania! This gem of a country is a wildlife lover’s paradise, home to some of Africa’s most famous safari destinations and unspoiled game parks. Located in the Great Lakes region of East Africa, Tanzania is known for its vast wilderness areas. This country is home to the Serengeti National Park, where millions of plains animals migrate around its fertile savanna plains.
Also, here is the Ngorongoro Crater, the only place you can see all Big Five animals (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and black rhino) on a single game drive. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our company representative will be waiting to transfer you to your overnight hotel in Arusha. After unpacking and unwinding, you can take some time to head out and admire the views.
Not only does this city sit at the foot of the 4,566 meters Meru Volcano (Africa’s 5 highest mountain), but at certain places, you can also spot the snow-capped Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain. Coffee lovers will want to hit a café and sample this country’s famous robusta and arabica roasts. After all, Tanzania is the third-largest coffee producer in Africa, and this bean is its largest export crop.

After birding in the plains, enjoy a packed picnic lunch and continue your drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
You will arrive at your lodge for relaxation before embarking on an afternoon game drive. At 330km2, Lake Manyara has a diverse range of habitats. The park lies at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment, which provides a stunning backdrop for your search for the park’s phenomenal bird life, tree-climbing Lions, Leopards, Elephants; Giraffes, Zebras, Hippos, Crocodiles, Waterbucks, Baboons, and Buffalos.
There are almost 400 bird species in the park including the Purple-crested Turaco, Silvery-cheeked Hornbill, Baglafecht Weaver, Grey-olive Greenbul, Crested Guineafowl, Superb Starlings, and Lilac-breasted Rollers as well as several East African specials such as Von der Decken’s Hornbill, Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, and White-headed Buffalo Weaver.
Raptors include Augur Buzzard, Gabar Goshawk, Grey Kestrel; Tawny, Crowned, and Martial Eagles. Lake Manyara’s main attraction, however, is the vast number of Greater and Lesser Flamingos. An abundance of other waterbirds is found here, including typical African families such as Pelicans, Spoonbills, Ducks, Herons, Storks, Egrets, Cormorants, Kingfishers, Jacanas, Plovers, and Lapwings.

Here, you can opt to visit a traditional Maasai village. A local guide will explain their unique culture as you watch the people busy with their daily chores. You will also be treated to a display of the famous Maasai dancing and will have unlimited photographic opportunities.
Depending on time, you may stop at the famous Oldupai Gorge, where Mrs. Leakey discovered the remains of an almost intact human skull dating 1.8 million years ago. You’ll enjoy a packed picnic lunch in the Gorge visitor center courtyard, before touring the museum to learn more about this fascinating place and its secrets.
A bird walk around the site may yield a variety of arid-country species such as the vocal Slate-coloured Boubou, Red-fronted Tinkerbird, Rufous Chatterer, and Vitelline Masked Weaver, and the beautiful Purple Grenadier.

Day 4: Full-Day Safari In Serengeti National Park.
Today, have an early breakfast and go on a morning game drive. You will return to your lodge/camp for lunch and some time to relax, before heading out in the park again in search of more animals/birds on an afternoon drive.
Spanning an incredible 14,000km², Serengeti is one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries. Despite its vastness, the number of animals you can expect to see is still astonishing. Serengeti, literally meaning ‘Endless Plain’ in Maasai, consists mostly of grasslands interspersed with Acacia woodlands and rocky Kopjes.
The park has little permanent water and this fact, combined with a fairly regular rainfall pattern, has resulted in the world-famous Wildebeest migration when over 2 million animals (wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles) move between the Serengeti and Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Your visit can be timed so that you might bear witness to this primeval wonder of the natural world.
Also, there will be a real feast of superb birds to keep you busy. Star birds include the East African endemics such as the Grey-crested Helmetshrike, Red-throated Tit, the striking Steelblue Whydah, and the localized Karamoja Apalis. Other specials are Fischer’s Lovebird, Grey-breasted Spurfowl, Rufous-tailed Weaver, the localized race of D’Arnaud’s Barbet, and Athi Short-toed Lark.
Not only is this a great place in which to find game and birds, but the wide gold savanna grasslands, dotted with umbrella-shaped acacia trees, also make it ideal for photography. The Serengeti is delightfully beautiful and offers dramatic views.

Day 5: Full-Day Safari In Serengeti National Park
On day five of your 10 days Tanzania safari, enjoy another full day exploring the wonders of the Serengeti! You’ll go on game drives in the morning and afternoon, then return to the lodge for lunch and a little break in the heat of the day.
The Serengeti ecosystem supports the highest concentrations of large predators in the world. Hyenas are the most numerous of the large carnivores at about 9,000, lions at 3000, and leopards at about 1,000. In general, cheetahs live at much lower densities than other large predators. However, the Serengeti boasts the highest density of cheetah in Africa (at certain times of the year) with up to 40 animals per 60 square miles found on short grass plains during the wet season.
You’ll also look out for more fantastic bird species such as Saddle-billed Stork, Vultures, Secretarybird, Bateleur, Yellow-throated Sandgrouse, Kori Bustards, Coqui Francolins, Temminck’s Courser, Pearl-spotted Owlet, Red-fronted Barbet, Tanzanian Red-billed Hornbill, Southern Ground Hornbill, Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Black-lored Babbler, Grey-backed Fiscals, Magpie Shrike, Hildebrandt’s Starling, Red-billed barbet, Beautiful Sunbird, Ostrich, and Blue-capped Cordon-bleu.

Day 6: Game Drives In Serengeti As You Travel To Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After breakfast on day six of your 10 days Tanzania safari, leave the Serengeti and travel to Ngorongoro. You have more opportunities to discover any species you might have missed as you make your way out of Serengeti.
The vast 8,292km² Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects, the planet’s largest intact volcanic caldera (260km²), and one of the world’s most scenically breathtaking natural areas. What’s more, the crater is also one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, home to one of the Earth’s densest populations of large animals, and over 500 bird species.
The fantastic forests that cloak the rim of this iconic site host a feast of Afro-montane forest birds. Schalow’s Turaco, Hildebrandt’s Francolin, beautiful Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, the elusive Brown-backed Woodpecker, Mountain Greenbul, Brown-headed Apalis, skulking Cinnamon Bracken Warbler, Brown Parisoma, busy flocks of Mbulu White-eyes and dazzling Tacazze, Golden-winged and Eastern Double-collared Sunbirds can be found.
You will bird the surrounds of your lodge as you enjoy the stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater from a dedicated viewpoint.

Day 7: Game Drive In Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer To Tarangire National Park.
After an early breakfast, you descend 2000 feet to the Ngorongoro Crater floor itself.
The crater is deluxe ‘Big Five’ territory and a photographer’s dream destination. Most of the animals are relaxed and habituated to the presence of human admirers, and the high crater walls, usually cloaked in a pure white frosting of clouds, make for dramatic backdrops to animal photographs.
Also, the crater floor provides a mini-example of a complete African ecosystem with forests, lakes, grasslands, swamps, and rivers. About 25,000 large animals reside in the crater and great concentrations of Wildebeest and Zebra are supplemented by great tusked African Elephants and the highly sought-after Black Rhinos.
Ngorongoro Crater reputably boasts the world’s highest concentration of predators, and these include Black-manned Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Serval, Bat-eared Fox, Spotted Hyena, and African Golden Wolf (Golden Jackal), and Black-backed Jackal.
The birding is similarly rewarding; Flamingos on Lake Magadi, Common Ostrich striding over the grasslands, regal Kori Bustard (the world’s heaviest flying bird), the elegant Grey Crowned Crane, Fan-tailed Widowbird, Rosy-throated Longclaw, Black-bellied Bustard, Dusky Turtle Dove, and good numbers of raptors including the unique Secretarybird, Bateleur, and Martial Eagle could all be found.
Then embark on a drive south to Tarangire National Park, a less explored birding gem. Arrive at your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

With a total area of 2850km2, Tarangire is the fifth largest national park in Tanzania. Seasonally, the park supports the second largest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania, surpassed only by the Serengeti during peak migration. But, Tarangire is most famous for its huge numbers of African Elephants that congregate huge herds of up to 300 strong along the life-giving Tarangire River.
You will take your time to observe these graceful giants and will surely be amazed at their tender family interactions. Other mammals likely to be seen include Dwarf Mongoose, Lion, Leopards, Impala, Kirk’s Dik-dik, comical Common Warthog, Giraffe, and Gerenuk. You can opt for a night game drive in the park or birding around your lodge which offers an opportunity to see the Slender-tailed and Freckled Nightjars as well as the diminutive African Scops Owl.
