Day 1: Drive to Tarangire National Park for Afternoon Game Drive.

Your 4 days wildlife safari in Tanzania starts at 8.00 am. Your tour driver guide shall pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and take you on a slow drive southwest through local villages and plantations to Tarangire National Park.

You arrive in time for lunch and then it is off to explore. Tarangire is a massive (2850km2) but little-visited reserve that is home to tree-climbing lions, fringe-eared Oryx, Dwarf Mongoose, and the curious long-necked gerenuk.

It is also the best place in East Africa to see enormous baobab trees, which easily withstand Tarangire’s elephants peeling off hunks of bark to eat. The park has Tanzania’s biggest elephant herds and supports large numbers of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and antelopes, which are best visible during the dry season when animal concentrations at the life-giving Tarangire River are at their peak.

Day 4: Half-day Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer Back to Arusha.

Early this morning you head into the Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy a 6-hour game drive on the floor. The crater is inhabited by 30,000 animals. Resident Zebra, Wildebeest, and Gazelle are a predator’s dream. Tanzania’s few remaining black rhinos are protected and regularly sighted in the crater, as are large herds of buffalo.

Huge tusked elephants, black-manned lions, cheetah, and spotted hyenas are also found, as well as thousands of lesser and greater flamingoes in the soda lake. Enjoy a game drive in the crater, this is perhaps the best place in East Africa to get close to rhinos and lions, and other predators among the hundreds of animals.
